How are you?
I’m doing good, just been sitting at home for the past 2 days because it’s been raining. I’m pretty stoked it’s gonna be time to dig at the trails pretty soon!
How are things going with your sponsors? Do you have any new signature goods, team trips, or anything like that going on these days?
Things are good with the sponsors, just trying to figure out and make plans for this year. Hopefully lots of trips this year!
What’s new in your life?
Tornadoes in Huntington Beach haha! Other than that, I just got a new wet suit a few weeks ago and have been surfing every day with my best friend.
Where are you right now?
I’m at my best friends house hanging out with some girls. About to go in the jacuzzi in the rain!
Where are you off to next?
There is a good chance I’m going to Austria in February for this thing called Masters of Dirt.
I know you just had a part in the Range of Motion video. Have you been filming for any other video parts or web videos lately that you can tell us about?
No not recently. I’m just getting over a hurt knee and thumb. Just getting back on the bike but, I plan on getting a new web edit out in the next month or so.
What does your average daily routine consist of these days?
If I don’t have shows I’ll sleep in, unless I know there is swell. Wake up and check the surf. If there are waves I’ll go surf for 1 to 3 hours, go home, eat, then go to Sheep Hills and ride till dark. Then if somebody is down maybe go to a skatepark. Hopefully hangout with a girl/girls after.
What is one question you have never been asked, but you wish somebody would ask?
If you could move to Australia would you? YES!! I had the best time of my life there last year!
Tell us something people might not know about you.
Im a sucker for older woman!
What does 2010 have in store for you? Are you going to be doing the Dew Tour and what not this year again?
Yes I’d forsure like to do Dew Tour this summer and as many dirt comps as possible. Maybe even ride a vert comp.
Any plans for tonight?
Not at the moment because of the rain. maybe go visit my friend Samantha at her work and get some free sushi.

TOM STRETTON - WELCOME TO COLONY EDIT

”Welcome to the Colony team Tom!
Filmed in Brisbane on Australia Day of 2010. All but 3 of the clips from this video were filmed in the space of an hour and a half before my plane left for Sydney.
It was about 35 degrees and it was painful to just be standing in the sun filming, let alone riding. Lucky, Tom is mega dialled!
”Short video shot at Malvern on a sunny day, thought i’d take the nice weather as an oppertunity to test out my camera outdoors for a change and to also try get used to my glidecam (still a bit shakey).

The finest riders from across the World are taking part, including skaters Ryan Sheckler, Tom Penny, Chris Pfanner and Johnny Layton and BMXers Garrett Reynolds, Dennis Enarson, Gary Young and Mark Webb ... & so many more. Full riders list can be found here: http://www.session.ee/2010/riders/ A total of almost 200 top athletes from 30 countries are arriving to compete in Tallinn – from all over Europe, USA and even Mexico, Brazil, Thailand and Japan. This is making Simpel Session one of the most international action sports events in the World.
The contest will take place on a brand new course, which is one the most attractive and massive skatepark Simpel Session has ever built for its event. The festival is once again hosted by the devoted announcers Zack “Catfish” Yankush and Dave “Double D” Duncan.
So if you’re near the area then there’s no excuse to miss out and still time to grab a ticket for the weekend! Nothing beats experiencing the amazing atmosphere first hand.
But if you are not – don’t feel left out. You can cancel your weekend plans as we’ll be delivering an unmissable weekend of LIVE skate WATCH SKATEBOARDING and BMX WATCH BMX action direct from Tallinn, Estonia.

Front Wheel: Proper Rim, Season Hub, Primo Spokes

Rear Tyre: Odyssey Aitken K-Lyte
Front Tyre: Eastern
Weight of bike: I’m not quite sure. I’d guess in the mid/upper twenties.
Modifications: Just your quintessential alterations like cutting the seatpost, axles, and bars a little. Oh, I guess I could mention that I do have a simple, straightforward paintjob. Once I even taped a harmonica to my handlebars…
Describe your personal bike setup.
An ugly unicorn with syrup stuck to its feet. I don’t know. I’m really not picky about bike parts and such. That much may be insinuated from by bike’s less-than-dialed appearance; most of my parts are bought secondhand from local riders. Sometimes I manage to obtain a few parts at contests and sometimes people just give me parts (Jim Bauer is the man).
Describe the contents of your personal bike tool bag.
DK Random Wrench! Thanks you Catfish.
What part do you wear through the quickest?
Grips, pedals, tires. The parts that suffer from incessant friction.
What part do you break most often?
Oh, this is an easy question. Tubes. Doesn’t everybody?
Do you patch flat tyres or get new tubes?
You know, it’s a shame. I always get new tubes. I should really start patching my tubes.
Which parts are you paranoid about breaking?
I don’t really think about bike parts breaking or snapping unless they actually do. I’m more scared about my body breaking than my bike.
Where do your parts go when you’re done with them?
To the shop to be welded and then back on to my bike.
Who builds your wheels? anything special about them?
I laced my front wheel and a friend worked my rear (?!). My wheels are probably pretty heavy by today’s standards. Front has a 14mm axle and the back has 48 spokes and a freecoaster.
Cassette or freecoaster?
Freecoaster because they make Indian givers easier.
Kevlar bead or regular bead?
There doesn’t seem to be too profound of a difference to me besides the weight and price. But what do I know? If you’ve got the boodle, then do it to it.
Plastic pedals or metal?
Plastic because you can usually get them secondhand from friends for free.

MICHAEL STEINGRAEBER ON MANKIND
posted 4 days, 23 hours ago
”Germanys Michael Steingraeber has decided to part ways with long time bike sponsor Dragonfly to join team Mankind.
Michael had this to say: “I have been with Dragonfly for over 15 years, working for them, riding for them, designing parts for them. It’s been a very good time and I am very appreciative for all the support they have given me. I would not be where I am now without them! But everything changes over time, and for me the time has come to walk a different path.
I will ride for Mankind Bikes as off now. The much liked Alive frame was the first Flatland product in the Mankind lineup, with more to come in the second half of 2010. Mankind gave me the chance to design a signature Flatland frame. I am happy to let you know my frame will feature the style and quality that all Mankind products are so well known for as well as the functionality that I am looking for in every product I want to use.” “ - Mankind
John Ivers once snapped a Taiwanese frame simply by looking at a gap. Since then, he’s picked up a Solid, sized that gap up, pedaled fast, bunnyhopped, braced for impact, and pulled that shit buttery smooth.”
