Colony BMX is the brainchild of one of Australia's most talented and technical riders out there, Clint Millar. Clint rode for Wethepeople for years and years, but left on good terms to start Colony just a few short years ago. And right out of the gate, Colony started big. Clint gathered together an impressive team of rippers from all over the world, and started manufacturing frames, forks, complete bikes, bars and a wide assortment of components to compliment the line. Part of that line is the MVP series, a signature frame and fork from Wisconsin tech legend Dave Freimuth. You might remember him from Etnies Grounded, Road Fools 1 and about 15 million clips from Props over the years. The MVP series is the latest frame to grace the Freimuth name.
The MVP frame features a fully post heat-treated Colonized cr-mo, heat-treated integrated headset, Mid B/B and 5mm CNC machined dropouts, externally machined seat tube and B/B shell, built-in seat clamp and seatstay mounted brakes. The frame is available in two top tube sizes (20.25 inch and 20.75 inch) featuring 14" chainstays, a 74.5 degree headtube angle, a 71 degree seat tube angle and a 11.5" B/B height. The frame's overall weight is just 4.5 pounds, and the colors include dark blue, white, metallic silver and limited edition colors. The MVP frame also comes with a one-year warranty.
As for the MVP forks, these also feature Colony's fully heat-treated Colonized cr-mo, with tapered fork legs, double butted legs with angled bottom caps, lightweight 5mm dropouts and Colony's specially designed top cap for front brake use. The MVP forks are available in either 10 or 14mm axle sizes, with or without brake mounts and weigh just 1.96 pounds. Color options include black, white, metallic blood red and limited edition colors. The MVP forks also feature a lifetime warranty.
Of course, the MVP series is just one small part of Colony's very extensive product line, so your options are wide open just in case the MVP series isn't your thing. But as we've always been huge Freimuth fans around here (despite how impossible it might be to get him to answer some questions over e-mail about Road Fools 1), we're gonna have to say that the MVP series is sweet...
