Last winter, a good part of the floundering airline industry came together (well, not really but it almost feels like it) and decided to increase the prices on the cost of traveling with a bicycle on a plane by between 30 and 50%. Ridiculous, I know. It used to be, if you were traveling with a bike, you’d buy a duffle bag from the Army/Navy store for $20, break down your bike as much as possible, tell the airlines that it was promotional equipment (which is kinda true, to a point) and enjoy the comfort of avoiding extra charges on traveling with a bike. Not so anymore. These are dark times for air travel with a bike. Knowing that, DK decided to construct a bike bag, working around the newfound regulations of the airline industry.
