Plastic pedals are all the rage lately, and for good reason. They're light, not nearly as deadly on your shins and seriously quiet your bike down when you drop it on its side. Knowing this, and already having a proven pedal design, Eastern Bikes sought out an inexpensive method to manufacture their well-known pedals in plastic.
The result are the CFRP's. CFRP stands for "Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic," and this new technology allows Eastern to manufacture a pedal that's extremely lightweight, durable and inexpensive. The CFRP Pedals are available in either black, white or brown, and weigh just 7.4 ounces each (for a final weight of 14.8 ounces per pair.)
The CFRP pedals feature Eastern's True dual-concave design, an unsealed 9/16" cr-mo axle and a knurled pedal surface. The CFRP pedals are then constructed using a carbon fiber reinforced plastic, which comes complete with molded pins for traction. Durable, inexpensive and lightweight. What more could you want in a pedal?
