The latest in a long line of quality, hand built, American-made frames from FBM is The Howler. Named for a Binghamton bar room legend, The Howler is constructed of aircraft grade 4130 cr-mo and features a low standover height for easier tailwhips and a sleek appearance.
As for fine details, The Howler is constructed using double-butted top and down tubes, an externally machined seat tube, integrated head tube, Mid B/B, sleek tapered chain stays, 3/16" thick heat-treated drop outs and custom laser cut gusset and seat stay bridge. Head tube angle is 75 degrees, chain stay length is 13.375" slammed and overall weight is 5 pounds. The Howler is also heat-treated using FBM's exclusive 'Roasted' heat-treating technique.
There's also a few options on The Howler. If you want to use brakes, you get a choice of seat stay OR chain stay brake mounts. And if you don't use brakes, there's also a brakeless version. Then there's top tube sizes, which include 20.5", 20.75" and 21". And finally, there are two colors to choose from: matte black or chocolate brown.
The Howler is hand built in upstate New York by people that ride and abuse FBM frames daily, so they know what they're doing and they never skimp on the craftsmanship. The end result being another quality frame from Big Dave and the folks at FBM, ready for street, trails, skateparks and whatever might arise along the way...
