Proper Bike Co. have been on the scene for more than a few years now, and they've continually produced quality, lightweight frames and components that don't fall in line with the trends of the moment. They surprised everyone about three years ago when they started producing the Magnatitanium line of hubs, which used titanium and weighed next to nothing. But that line has undergone some technological changes. Proper's gone back to the drawing board, devising new materials to keep the price and weight down. (Titanium is expensive...) And they've produced the Magnalite line, including a new front hub. It features a 7075-T6 aluminum shell with a 3/8" 4130 chromoly axle, Japanese sealed bearings, 36 or 48 h options, a weight of 7.6 grams, a 1 year warranty and colors in black, blue, green, red and gold. Proper's new rims are constructed of 6061 double-wall aluminum with two internal ribs for strength. They weigh 18.3 ounces each and are available in black, gold, red, light blue, green, brown, purple and white. Finally, there's Proper's new Magnalite sprocket. The details here are pretty basic. It's CNC'd 7075 aluminum, bead blasted before anodizing for a matte finish. Available in black, blue, gold, green or red and all sorts of sizes are available, from 25t to 33t. (The 25t version weighs in at 2.4 ounces.) So there you go. New stuff from Proper. If it's good enough for Dave Sowerby, then it's good enough for you. That guy is an ape...
