Subrosa's second signature frame currently in the prototype testing stages (but soon to be available) is the Eli Platt Armada frame. And much like Ryan Sher's signature Pandora frame, this thing keeps it lightweight and simple without sacrificing strength or costing an arm and a leg.
Constructed of 100% 4130 Sanko cr-mo, Eli's frame features double-butted top tube, downtube and seat stays, an internally and externally butted seat tube (with built in seat clamp) and your choice of four top tube sizes. The Armada will be available with either 20", 20.5", 20.75" or 21" top tube, all spec'd with a tight 13.75" rear end.
The head tube is CNC'd and heat-treated, featuring removable gyro tabs, integrated headset and a 75 degree angle. The Mid B/B is also CNC'd and heat-treated, featuring an 11.5" height. The compact 5mm thick dropouts are also CNC'd and heat-treated. And before you start wondering where this is all headed, the final weight of the Armada frame is 4.9 pounds.
As with all things Subrosa, the color choices are pretty simple. You get either black, white or matte raw. And if you were worried about those cable guides and brake mounts, you can rest assured knowing that the Armada frame will be available with a brakeless option.
And there you have it for Subrosa's new Eli Platt Armada frame. I'm going to bed now. That John Adams mini series on HBO really did me in...
