    Suicide Squeeze Records turns ten years old this year. And they're celebrating the crap out of the joyous occasion. Earlier this year, Suicide Squeeze hosted a three-day birthday party full of live music from their current and past roster, and just recently, the label released a compendium of sorts to celebrate the history and diversity of the label's back catalog. 'Slaying Since 96' is Suicide Squeeze's 50th release, and it runs the gamut of influential artists that have come up through the SS ranks. Included within are out of print and previously unreleased material from 764-Hero, Modest Mouse, Elliot Smith, Pedro the Lion, The Black Heart Procession, The Black Keys, The Melvins, Les Savy Fav, Minus The Bear, Crystal Skulls, Of Montreal, Metal Hearts, These Arms Are Snakes and, wait a sec, do I even need to go on? The double CD release to commemorate this splendiferous occasion is packed full of amazing and influential music from a label that refuses to be defined by a sound or movement.
