With the well-documented demise of print media, BMX photography has very much been pushed onto the back-burner in terms of priority within the BMX world. Sure, Instagram is awash with images daily but for us here at DIG, photos have always had their most impact when seen in large-format, in print. It’s what made us start DIG in the first place and it still plays a big part in keeping us motivated every year with the publication our annual print edition - giving our DIG photographers a proper home for their incredible work.
The current world is a ravenous beast, and with the rate at which hungry eyes consume video content, you’d be forgiven for thinking that the future of the still image is less than bright, however after releasing information on the first DIG photo competition, we were blown out of the water by the relentless influx of submissions to our inbox, and not only from the 30+ crowd… we had all ages and scenes around the world sending through some truly inspiring photography and positivity.
Over 1000 images later and we had an our work cut out trying to narrow down the selection of our highlights, let alone the winners, but we got there in the end. With the help of our friends listed above we’ve been able to giveaway $500 in cash with webstore vouchers and a huge list of product prizes split between the winners. Scroll down to see who took the win in both categories and take a look at the incredible runners up. Keep shooting folks and look out for info on our DIG 2021 photo contest later this year.
