Where do you live?
I was born in Cologne and have always lived there except for the last couple of months where I lived in Düsseldorf, returning to Cologne in March 2021.
How’s the BMX scene where you are?
The BMX Scene in Cologne is really good and getting bigger from year to year.
Which part of your bike is most important to you?
Last year I decided to try out a cassette hub again and realized that the freecoaster is one of the most important things on my bike to do the tricks that I really enjoy. Also I like it when my frame is a little bit shorter in the back and my bars are a little bit higher.
How would you describe your personal bike setup?
I would describe my bike setup as simple and classic. Colourwise I like to keep it rather plain.
What parts do you ride the longest?
I would say that I ride my sprocket and the cranks the longest.
Are there any special modifications or things you do when building up a new setup?
Nothing big except for cutting off my bars 2cm on each side.
How have the Covid restrictions affected your riding this past year?
Since the Corona restrictions started in March 2020 we were lucky enough to have decent weather and be able to ride outside in Düsseldorf and Cologne. What really stopped me from riding is breaking my foot in May and having a knee injury since summer til now which forced me to take breaks from time to time. I wasn't able to do any kind of trips but considering the circumstances it was totally ok.
What have you got planned for this year riding wise? What’s next?
I will definitely try to ride more often than the previous year. Making concrete plans feels a little bit weird at the moment but I’m hoping to travel and have the opportunity to see a lot of people again. Moving back to Cologne and starting my Masters, and hopefully getting my knee injury behind me so that I can ride without pain again. I’m looking forward to finishing a video for Cult which I’ve been working on for quite some time now – Wishing for the best.
