Just Another San Diego Weekend...

After politely being asked to leave by one of the nicest principals I have ever met, we moved onto this set up just a quick drive away. Devon found a line to film quickly with this dubs over hard, fakie manual to cab bar. Now try saying that quickly 3 times.

With a spot like this it was sure that everyone would be enjoying it while Devon was working on getting the trick he wanted. Christian ending a line with a 360 fastplant.

As the sun was setting Reed quickly got a line to wallie 180 just in time to end the session.

When Reed first said he wanted to do doubles to feeble on this I was kind of shocked the rail was fast and the ledge is super narrow. At first he wanted to get more for this rail to ledge but after a few goes realizing just how fast this set up was and after taking it a few times Reed got this high speed dubs to feeble.

Sometime the coin lands face up and you know it's time to do a little modification to make the spot more ridable.

Neyer’s first attempt down this rail was steep and fast to say the least, pulling the hanger but having to slide out into one of my flashes to avoid the disaster.

My flashes seem to have magnets that attract Tony (that or I seem to enjoy them being in harm's way), as almost every time we shoot he slides into them and or me. Thanks Tony for always saving my flashes.

Second go at this rail and with some flash placement adjustments Tony got this one steep full speed and smooth as can be.

I have been to this spot for another set up the school has to offer numerous times, never in a million years thinking i'd be shooting the small out-ledge - I can't even grind it without sliding off of its beveled edge. Devon and Reed spot prepping.

To say this was a challenge to shoot and make look as good as Reed did it is an understatement at best. Reed with a wallie 180, Ice to hard cab out.

What originally started out with a phone call from etnies filmer Will Stroud saying he wanted to roll through SD for the weekend with Devon to chill, while he was in California working on wrapping up the first stages of editing CHAPTERS, quickly turned into a second call saying he was actually coming through with Reed Stark and Tony Neyer for the weekend in hopes of filming some more finishing touches for the video. With that crew headed my way (filming or not) it was sure to be a fun weekend.

Luckily for my small house and the abundance of overly abused SD spots and hidden gems, Garrett Reynolds was in town and more than down to help hop in the van and show the crew some of what SD had to offer. Alongside other SD etnies riders Christian Rigal and Demarcus Paul, the crew made quick work taking full advantage of the amazing weather, spots, friends, van and generator... proving sometimes a quick unexpected two day trip just a couple hours away can be just as productive and fun as traveling across the globe.
