2014 Unseen Photo Gallery- Rob Dolecki

2014 started off with a trip to New Zealand, and was one of the most amazing destinations I’ve ever been to (a feature article ran in the last print issue, #99). George Bolter is one of the many awesome natives I met and became friends with, and he’s a serious shredder too. Case in point- transfer from one side of the Lynfield Bowl to the other.

I met Canadian Wade Lajlar during a trip to Guadalajara, Mexico back in 2007. I didn’t see Wade again until this spring, seven years later in—you guessed it—Guadalajara, Mexico. We celebrated the reunion by cruising some downright amazing random spots, like this ditch half. Here’s to hoping it’s a little sooner than another seven before I cruise with Wade again.

Dinnertime on the NYC subway. When the sun is setting early, the Winter Solstice along with cold temps have arrived, and you're hungry as shit, sometimes it’s the best place to eat.

Traveling to Buga, Colombia, with Mark Mulville this year was eye-opening, to say the least. The Cali/ Buga areas of Colombia host some incredible trails talent. It’s amazing to see how many awesome riders are in Colombia, many riding bikes and parts handed down ten times over, and in some cases re-welded multiple times over. Not to mention the trails we rode were pretty damn fun also. Mr. Mulville, enjoying some of the clay offerings in Cali.

Portland, Oregon, is one of the best U.S. destinations in the summertime, hands down. When the opportunity to go arises, I’m always on it. This place is one of the reasons why; Chester Blacksmith has known this for years.

After years of always saying I need to spend some time in Melbourne, Australia, it finally happened the first week of 2014 with Max Gaertig, who’s made it his winter vacation spot for the past few years. Melbourne didn’t let me down. Local Adam Stone makes some pretty amazing sculptures, and he can click a mean turndown.

The irony. One of the funnest pool sessions of the year went down earlier this day, and yards from this DIY quarter, thanks to Russ Barone and his rented water pump. All this was going on while Mark Gralla discovered he may actually be immune to poison ivy.
