Sometimes things just work out, and it couldn't have been any closer on this one. What you can't see in this photo is the park ranger running at Nathan from the right shouting some, presumably, unappreciative expletives. Switch feeble to switch hard 3 - job done.

This dude kept his cats in a crate that you couldn't even think about swinging a cat in, let alone keep 12 or more. I felt bad for this kitty but at least he looked like he was fed well.

Tom Creasy left his wallet in this woman's shop for over an hour, and once he realised and made his way back to the shop she was waiting with it for him. I think Tokyo is the only place i've left my bike outside a restaurant with no lock and not been worried one bit.

This guy and his grandkid watched Nando ride for a good 15 minutes and although he couldn't understand what I was saying, we had a quick chat via the joys of made up international sign language.

More switch madness. The whole time we were in Tokyo we battled the police and security presence. Thankfully this day Nathan won.

After a series of covert operations and attempts to ride this ledge, Nathan decided enough was enough and went at it with security in tow trying to grab him. How he got out of this I don't know... serious cat reflexes on this one.

I couldn't figure out what these moped contraptions were, but apparently it's to keep your miso soup in its bowl upon delivery. Smart eh?

As we came through the clouds, I couldn't quite believe it was actually happening. We'd come to Japan to ride bikes?! Stepping out of the airport a kind but hectic man with white gloves took my bags and ushered me onto a bus, and I can say to this day i've never been so excited about what was ahead of us, and the simple joys of a bus ride in a distant country. For the first few days your eyes balls get a hell of a workout just figuring out what the hell is going on, and trying to ride street isn't much different. It's in and out, hit-and-run, drive-by, whatever you want to call it. It's not the easiest but the guys got some incredible stuff done while we there. And damn the sake is good... I could have made this gallery hundreds of photos deep, but here's a small selection of what I saw in the Land of the Rising Sun. Thanks Japan.
