This was at Decoy, when the first Empire of Dirt got rained out. Everyone is in town, the contest was cancelled, so what do we do? We went down to the bottom of the hill, and the trails were running good. That set was so good. I won a guitar that day for having the most fun or something. It just turned into a jam, so that’s what made it fun. All the guys you want to ride with are there, and there’s nothing at stake. People are barbeque-ing; just a good day. - Photo by Ricky Adam

Wow. Look at the handlebars, seat post. That was the first FIT sample I ever had. It wasn’t even painted. Being at Sheep Hills, that thing was probably so rusty the next day. There was a time where I thought riding in running shoes was a good idea, because they were comfortable. A couple of months later my knees were aching really bad, and I realized that although they were comfortable, they didn’t’ have any support on the soles. So when you would land, all the shock would get transferred up your legs and lower back, and they would get really sore. It ended up not being a good idea. - Photo by Rob Dolecki
