We got to these trails late in the day after riding the Sheraden skatepark. We filmed while the sun was out and when the sun started setting we managed to get this one picture before it was too dark to ride anymore. Doyle 360 turndown at the Monroeville Trails.

The Sheraden Skatepark is a metal prefab park that isn’t the easiest to ride. That’s no problem for Doyle though because he seemed pretty comfortable blasting perfect inverts over this hip.

Incase you missed it… the TRA Double Cross contest was organized and hosted by TRA founder Mike Gentilcore in his backyard. It was a racing and dirt jump contest which took place on the same course. Aaron Ross and Mike Gonzales with some legit doubles during practice.

Doyle is no stranger to riding trails but I think his racing skills were a little rusty. That did’t stop him from having some of the closest races of the weekend. He eventually got knocked out of the race but managed to get third place in the dirt jumping contest. Cannonball during practice.

On our first night in Pittsburgh we went to the Wheelmill Skatepark. This place is insane, it’s a huge warehouse with a bunch of different rooms with different riding setups. There’s a “pump track room,” a “mini ramp room” and here Doyle does a textbook 360 invert in the box “jump room.”

This trip almost didn’t happen. Originally Aaron (Ross) was supposed to fly to Buffalo, NY for a skatepark opening then go to Pittsburgh. On the day of his flight there was a fire at the Chicago airport which delayed and cancelled thousands of flights. So last minute he asked me if I wanted to drive straight up to Pittsburgh since he was going to miss the skatepark opening in Buffalo. Without much hesitation I said sure and the next day we were off. We drove the 26 hours straight from Austin to Pittsburgh and ended up at Chris Doyle’s house. Our plan was to hang out with Chirs for a couple of days riding some spots around his house then drive to the TRA Double Cross contest in Bethlehem. We also wanted to ride Catty and Posh but because of rain and short amount of time luck wasn’t on our side. This was mainly a filming trip for a short Empire web video but I ended up getting some photos and put this gallery together...
