"This was April 1993, The Hoffman BS contest in Shimersville PA. Gilly, Tag and I made the three hour or so road trip down there with a back pack full of FBM shirts to try and help cover gas costs. We managed to meet up with friends, Jason Stieg, Stew Johnson, Justin Short, Crazy Joe Daugirda and the south shore posse. We’d never been to a big event, and never seen any big name riders outside of magazine photos and some copied VHS videos of the era. Wandering around watching the legendary BMXers and up and coming pro’s was life changing, watching them ride and interacting with them in real time was like. Lightning bolt of stoke. Looking in the background of this footage’s I see young faces of would be superstars, old friends and BMX lifers. In this video, shot on a borrowed VHS cam we split filming duties on, you’ll see Mat Hoffman. Dave Clymer, Joe Rich, Jon ‘Luc-e’ Englebert, Joe ‘Butcher’ Kowalski, Sandy Carson, Jeff Crawn, Leigh Ramsdell, Jay Miron and Dave Mirra."
